Litterblitz:

Our annual Litterblitz will be held during the schools’ Easter break from 27th March – 12th April. As usual, there will be refuse bags left at the three pickup points – by the Cricket Club, by the bench opposite the school and by the notice board opposite Church Lane, Hawridge. As there always seem now to be large numbers of bottles by the lay-by opposite the Velo Café (nothing to do with the café!) we will have an additional pickup point there this time. Bucks CC have agreed to collect any bags or other rubbish at the end of our blitz. However, if you are able to take your collection home for roadside removal please do so. If you encounter anything that is too heavy to take to the pickup points, can you please let us know where it is so that we can alert the Council? If you would like a free litter pick please get in touch lindsaygriffin@yahoo.co.uk or Tel 01494 950084.

Citizen Science and Chalk Streams, followed by AGM, Cholesbury Village Hall, 21st April at 7.30pm:

Iona McMillan will discuss the importance of Citizen Science in helping nature recovery with particular reference to our 9 Chilterns Chalk Streams. Her talk will highlight the vital role played by citizens’ observations in, for example, detecting pollution incidents and monitoring restoration schemes and how everyone can get involved.

Our brief AGM will follow. The accounts for year ending October 2025 have now been approved by the Committee, they will be presented for adoption of Members at the AGM and, together with the Treasurer’s Report, are available here.
